What are the Odds?

In the odds column, we have the forecast odds for the horses in the race.  This is not live odds, or the Starting Price, but the recognised forecast price listed by the industry.  It is a good indicator of the horses chances before the market interferes with the pricing at the bookmakers.

The forecast price or the odds, are the easiest way to determine the horses chances in relation to the other horses in the race.  Once the markets open, then the price is influenced by the number and amount of bets placed on the horses, and is not such a true indication of horse's chance, rather the market's confidence in the horse's chance.
